ChanPlug ® - Micro-Annulus Cement Squeeze Technology

Typical Properties and Field Applications

ChanPlug technology was commercialized in 2022 successfully and has been applied in various oil and gas fields in the world. It has been proved to be effective in the following conditions:

Temperature:
BHST 39‑320°F (4‑160°C)
Density:
8.3 ppg to 20.0 ppg (1.00 – 2.40 g/cm3)
Mix‑water:
Fresh water
Free water:
0 mL
API fluid loss:
≤50 mL
Treatment:
Casing‑leaks, micro‑annulus, fractures and fissures, perforation, gravel packs, highly permeable matrix, liner top
Further information about field jobs is described in documented “Case History of ChanPlug Technology”.

Precautions and HSE Considerations

Microfine cement (KCM053), silica fume (KCM033), flow-off additive (KCM028) and stabilizer (KCM018A) play the most important role in ChanPlug treatment design using slurry squeeze technique. In addition, flow loss agent (KCM065L), accelerator (KCM042) and dispersant (KCM002S) are also used in ChanPlug systems.

The laboratory procedures, quality assurance program and guidelines for field mixing and handling of ChanPlug systems are described in the fluid manual.

Refer to the technical data sheet (TDS) and SDS of the respective product for the health, safety and environmental information of each product.
