E-Frac® - N2 Foamed Fracturing Fluids

Typical Properties and Field Applications

E-Frac technology was commercialized in 2019 successfully and has been applied in various oil and gas fields in the world. It has been proved to be effective in treatment of tight sandstone and carbonate reservoirs with the following conditions:

Temperature:
BHST 70-275℉ (21-135℃)
Formation:
Various sandstone and carbonate formations
Mix-water:
Fresh water, brines or seawater

Further information about field applications is described in documented “Case History of E-Frac Technology”.

Typical stability and rheological properties of E-Frac fluids are shown in the following Pictures and Figures.

Precautions and HSE Considerations

Guar (KHF021 and KHF021L), crosslinker (KHFN0304 and KHFN0510), foaming agent (KHF022) and breaker (KHF011, KHF012, KHF013 and KHF014) in E-Frac systems play the most important roles in fracturing treatment. In addition, clay stabilizer (KHF002L), biocide (KHF003), stabilizer aid (KHF004) and flowback additive (KHF007S) are also used in E-Frac systems.

The laboratory procedures, quality assurance program and guidelines for field mixing and handling of E-Frac systems are described in E-Frac fluid manual.
