HVFR® - High Viscosity Friction Reducer

Typical Properties and Field Applications

HVFR technology was commercialized in 2017 successfully and has been applied in various unconventional oil or gas fields in the world. It has been proved to be effective in treatment of shale or tight sand reservoirs with the following conditions:

Temperature:
BHST 70-350℉ (21-177℃)
Formation:
Various shale gas or shale oil formations
Mix-water:
Fresh water, brines, or seawater

Further information about field applications is described in documented “Case History of HVFR Technology”.

Typical rheological properties of HVFR fluids are shown in the following Figures.

Precautions and HSE Considerations

High viscosity friction reducer (KHF027LV), clay stabilizer (KHF002C), biocide (KHF003 and KHF003N), flowback additive (KHF007S) and breaker (KHF011, KHF012, KHF013, KHF014) are the key additives used in the HVFR systems.

The laboratory procedures, quality assurance program and guidelines for field mixing and handling of HVFR systems are described in HVFR fluid manual.
